Aegir

Aegir is a giant who personifies the ocean. He is not to be confused with Njörd, the Vanir god of the seas. Together with his wife, Ran, he rules over the oceans from his underwater halls.

Aegir is known to be a friend of the Aesir, as he hosts lavish feasts in his palace to which they are invited. During one of these feasts, he challenges Thor to get him a cauldron big enough to brew beer for satisfy the Aesir’s thirst.
