Vili is one of the three sons of Bor and Bestla, making him a half-giant. He was the middle brother of the three gods of Norse creation, his older brother being Odin and his younger brother being Ve.
“Vili” means “will”, which is coincidentally also what he granted to human beings when creating them, along with intelligence.
After a heated argument between Odin and his brothers, Vili and Ve decided to make Vanaheim their new home. The Vanir gods are argued to be the descendants of Vili and Ve. The two brothers are not mentioned any further in original Norse sources.
