Phoibe is the Titanide personification of intelligence, just like her brother-husband Coeus. Whereas her brother had a strong relationship with their father, Uranus, Phoibe had a strong relationship with her mother, Gaia. She channeled the prophecies of the universe on behalf of “Mother Earth”. Together, they were the first owners of the Oracle of Delphi, where Titans, gods, and mortals alike would come to listen to their prophecies.
She is the daughter of Gaia and Uranus. Together with Coeus, they resembled all knowledge on Earth and in the Heavens. Their union would lead to two children: Asteria and Leto. Both their children and grandchildren inherited their prophetic powers. One of those grandchildren would turn out to be Apollo: the oracle of Delphi.
